we need to have a talk.

hello all.

I hate that I have to do this, because it only applies to a small percentage, but it has to be addressed before I hulk out and destroy everything.

now I know we’re on the internet and we can say anything we like because freedom of speech and everything, yeah! I don’t enjoy stopping people from saying what they like, but when it goes too far, then it’s gonna start spiralling into a messed up black hole of ugly.

so you’re probably wondering what on earth I’m talking about, well I’ll keep it short. It’s about my name. my name is PJ, that is what I, my family, my friends, my enemies (they potentially call me something a bit more rude), and you all call me. It’s how I want to be known.

however, there is a small number of you who think it’s funny to openly try to guess what it is. I understand the curiosity, but it’s irrelevant. If I don’t want people to know, then that’s just that. It’s just pretty disrespectful and immature, is that really what you want me to think of you? I’m sure it’s not.

I felt that I should say it once and for all, then never need to mention it again. please respect the fact that I don’t want my full name on the internet. I say this because it’s getting to the point where my own, my friends and my families privacy is getting trampled over. which is not cool.

In future think before you post things speculating about my personal life on tumblr, twitter, youtube, or wherever. I love making videos because It’s crazy fun, and I know that a bunch of awesome people are going to watch them, please don’t make me change my opinion of the people who watch them.

videos will resume as normal, tweeting with resume as normal, LIFE will resume as normal. this isn’t me “rage quitting” the internet or anything crazy like that, I’m just addressing something that has been bugging me and is starting to affect the privacy of the people around me.

also, I hate having to be this serious about stuff, because it sounds like I’m angry, when I’m not. you just need to realise my name is PJ, the letters for what they stand for are irrelevant. It’s just PJ.

for anyone who thinks video making is a one man job in a bedroom, I bring to you some behind the scenes stills of what a usual kickthepj video looks like.

I don’t always know how it will exactly turn out until we start shooting. as you can see, at one point we were debating to black out the background completely, the costume kept changing etc.

On this particular shoot, I had Sophie and Louis on make-up and costume, also set design. Jamie was cinematographer/camera/lighting, and James who has managed avoid being in these pictures was amending the script and adding in new lines.

also keep in mind this was a very simple shoot, when compared to other things we have made. the chef comes to mind as a difficult and lengthy one.

I just wanted to put into perspective what exactly goes on behind the camera, because although I can put on a silly voice and pretend to be a clown, I’d be nothing without my crew of buddies.

also this was hella fun, so get some friends together and start making some films, yo!
